In light of the issues that resulted from the damage to the diner, there has been
a delay in the schedule, as you probably would have guessed. However, we have regrouped and are now redesigning
the building plan to fit our budget. The damage to the diner is but one variable in this equation of considerations.
So for now it is back to the drawing board! . . . But never fear, Phil’s Diner will be here in
2010!
The long delay in blog postings was a direct result of the dicey-ness of the situation and
the absence of information while awaiting structural evaluations and reports. Blah blah blah . . .
The moral of the story . . . opening a business is a roller coaster of ups and downs and twists and
turns.

Phil’s Diner is so fortunate to have such a great following of fans
and friends that we knew it was time to share our status with all of you who are awaiting the momentous return to the NoHo
Arts District! Our new goal is to begin construction in April and be open by mid Summer 2010.

Imagine for a moment, it’s a warm
summer evening and you’re out on the patio at Phil’s sipping a cold beer, hanging out with friends, eating your
favorite burger and onion rings.
The game is on the big screen, the “Emmy” fountain is flowing in the background and the streets
are buzzing with people.

People are walking to and from the subway, Laemmle Theatre, school, work,
neighborhood shows, or the latest local art exhibit.

But not just any people. NoHo people. Colorful, interesting, creative – you
and your people. Our people.
We are working to create an atmosphere
at Phil’s Diner that will draw you in at breakfast, lunch and dinner for a meal served at the counter inside the diner,
on the run from the take out window, or in the patio scenario that was just described.
Progress
will be posted as we move along and we are happy to have all of your support on this journey.
