GROUNDBREAKING! We know that it has been quite a while
since our last progress report, but Phil's is really starting to pick up steam now!
If you have driven down Lankershim
Blvd recently you have seen the newly painted Phil’s Diner sign across the front of the diner. For
those of you who haven’t had the pleasure, take a look at the great job done by John Gomez, Film Industry Sign Writer. The Phil's Diner sign was done freehand and what beautiful work, John! Thank you.

GROUNDBREAKING DAY: Casey and Joe clearing fence materials for Padilla's Company to begin grading.

BEFORE GRADING

AFTER GRADING

FOUNDATION/PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL PREP: Owners, Malissa and Casey Hallenbeck, checking out the progress
of the foundation and plumbing.

STEM WALL: Below are two pictures of the stem wall, Phil's Permanent Residence. The stem wall is the supporting
structure that joins the foundation of Phil's Diner with the vertical foundation walls.

FOUNDATION: The diner is expanding! In addition to the dining car, Phil's Diner will also have an additional
kitchen, a pick up window and restrooms.

WELCOME ERIN CORONA! Finally, we are excited to welcome a new member to the Phil's Diner family, Erin Corona. She will be the first member
of a growng team here. Erin will facilitate the start up functions of the diner and will be helping us work toward our
grand opening. Her expertise is in marketing and community outreach, as well as local food sourcing. We look forward to Erin
growing with the company.
Look for more photos of our progress very soon!
